Our Story
Famiglia means family, and I learned from an early age that family is everything. It is a special bond of love, compassion and support that goes far beyond a connection through blood and ancestry.
My parents came to America from Rome, Italy in 1956. My two older sisters and I were born in New York City and from the time I could walk and talk, everyone who entered our home was either our Zia (Aunt), Zio (Uncle) or Cugini (Cousin). As I grew older, I wondered, how is it possible to have so many relatives? That’s when I learned an important lesson in being Italian – close and chosen friends can become Famiglia too. These “relatives” were my parents’ friends and their children, now a part of our family, and us a part of theirs. We became a family forged by circumstance, friendship, trust, and love.
As I grew-up, I took these lessons with me, and added to my Famiglia along the way. One of my greatest joys is hosting a gathering and figuring out how to fit everyone at the table. Cooking, eating, laughing, talking, sharing stories, drinking, eating more – we’d sit around the table for hours. This celebration of family is how Famiglia Life was born. There is nothing that can replace the warmth and love of family. Those “relatives” from our younger years – they are still a part of our family today because Famiglia Life is a way of life. It’s everything.
Welcome to the Famiglia!
